About Stockholm City Library

Here, traditional library work meets digital innovation. Visitors can partake in everything from author talks and reading circles to programming workshops and language cafés. With creativity and expertise, the staff create opportunities for these visitors to grow, discover, and influence – always based on each visitor's needs and ideas.

We are now looking for a library substitute for Stockholm City Library

Are you a student, freelance translator, or a newly retired person? Or are you someone who prefers to work part-time or have irregular working hours? Do you have an interest in literature and reading? And do you want to work in a library? If you answered yes to these questions, you have come to the right place! We offer you a temporary job at the library with some flexibility so that you can choose when you can and want to work. This way, you can select the days of the week that suit you based on your schedule or life situation. As a substitute at the library, you will replace regular staff during their absence.

As a library substitute, you will

• staff the library's information desk and assist visitors.
• manage the library's media and assist visitors with book recommendations and reading suggestions.
• handle IT issues, assist with printing, and similar tasks.

We are looking for someone who

• has completed or is currently pursuing a university education in Library and Information Science or another relevant field.
• has experience in library work or equivalent experience from another service profession.
• has the ability to meet and effectively handle different types of people and situations through a communicative and pedagogical approach.
• can handle stressful situations.
• has good IT skills.

It is an advantage if you

• are proficient in additional languages beyond good Swedish.
• are flexible with your schedule and can step in at short notice.

Other

This is a staffing assignment. Start is immediate, and working hours may be scheduled for both weekdays and holidays with a varying extent of 4 to 6 hours.
